Looking at a stainless Taurus or S&W 22lr revolver, the price difference is huge, is the S&W worth it?
Thanks in advance for your opinions.
I have and enjoy several flavors of .22 wheel gun, it would help if you could enlighten us as to your planed use, plinking, accuracy, cowboy, bang around the yard for varmints, would determine just which gun you really want.

for an semi-auto and the price is right, its hard to beat the blued Ruger 22/45. Taurus 94 is an excellent wheelgun too...

If you can locate a S&W Model 17 or 18 (or early production 317), the added cost is well worth it. IMHO, the newer models of S&W DO NOT justify the extra cost - especially in a 22 cal. Taurus seems to be interested in improving quality, which they have, whereas S&W is more concerned with "shareholder value".
I have the Taurus and it is a fine gun. I wouldn't pay the difference in cost; in fact, I didn't!

The purpose of the 22lr revolver is primarily for varmints and some target shooting. I have a S&W 2214, but I prefer wheel guns.
