With the items I have in my possesion, I might be able to PROTECT THEM (LEOs) from harm. Personally I don't think I'd be challenged, but I would probably be out of the area before the SHTF.
BTW, my 2 Sons and Wife are pretty well versed in the operation and care of what I have, should there be a need for their "assistance".

No offense, but this is ridiculous.
What are you not going to be armed until the cops show up?
If a SHTF comes, you want your gear beside you. Not a hour dig away or nailed behind floor boards and such.
What good are they in a SHTF then?

I want to also add, a LEO swears under oath that they will uphold the constitution. Once they violate that oath AND the constitution itself (you can say that happens every day in some states) they are no longer acting as a LEO. They are simply taking illegal actions sponsored by their state, city or municipality.
    Just my 2¢
And dont get me wrong many of my family members are LEO's, I tell them the same thing. Although they sure like to change the subject afterwards.

    Denial a powerful thing.

I would like to also ask why is defending yourself NO MATTER who it is at your door is considered a discussion of illegal activity?

We all know the constitution, we know what our rights are.
*I can tell the Mods are getting a little riffed with my questions and comments, and I am not here to offend anyone or break the rules. So I'll stop with that last question in this post.

(with all due respect of course)

I would invite them inside to immediately confiscate all my harmful, evil, black weapons and then have them stay for tea to discuss the error of my philandering ways.

Unless they could read my mind, they would only get what I'd be willing to give up. A sling shot, a few rocks, and a stick.

The rest they would have to find, and unless they were there when my house was built I don't think they would have much luck.

Speaking for myself only : If i lived where this could happen , neither I nor my firearms would be home when RayRay's stooges came knocking. If a friend of mine was unlucky enough or foolish enough to become part of the illegal seizure , well I would certinly pay him a visit , bringing my guitar in a soft sided case , just so i could play him a tune and cheer him up . a 12 hour drive is nothing to me since most of my life i have drove something for a liveing. The health and good spirits of my friends and thier familys are of the utmost imporntance to me .

I think you all are forgetting, a massive SHTF can happen ANYWHERE.
Dot think your safe because you live in middle America.

To do so would be very ignorant.

Only sheep think they're immune to that kind of thing.

Let's see, when did the **** hit the fan for normal people like us in American History where guns could have been useful?

-British Oppression in the 1760's and 1770's
    -Shays's Rebellion
    -The Whiskey Rebellion
    -The Quasi-War
    -Slave Rebellions
    -The War of 1812
-South Carolina trying to secede in the 1830's
    -Bleeding Kansas
    -Harper's Ferry
    -The Civil War
    -Union Strikes
    -The raid on Columbus, NM
    -The Public Enemy Era
    -Pearl Harbor
-Interning American citizens ("It's okay I'm white and they only interned Japanese"-WRONG! They interned Germans and Italians too)
    -Police Brutality
    -Katrina
-Gunmen shooting at National Guardsmen on the border

I'm sure there's more, please add on.

The one thing these all have in common is they would have been impossible to predict more than 10 years before they occured (and even weeks before in some cases).

So when some ******* tells you you're perfectly fine and you shouldn't have guns for the safety of everyone, encourage them to read a simple high-school history textbook.

And those are just the incidents that happen in our country. Read about the 1968 summer olympics in Mexico City where their Army went door to door shooting unarmed citizens. Or how about in Rwanda in 1994 when a million people were killed in 100 days ("They shouldn't have had guns!"-Actually most of them were killed with machetes).

Don't believe citizens can fight armies? Hmmm, guerillas in Vietnam couldn't be stopped by 1. The Japanese, 2. The French (okay beating the French isn't much of an accomplishment), 3. The South Vietnamese Gov't and the Americans. Guerillas in Afghanistan couldn't be stopped by 1. The British, 2. The Russians, and 3. The Americans. Then there's Iraq (no elaboration needed), plus the American Revolution, the list goes on and on.

A gun is a pretty damn cheap ($500) and safe (Ted Kennedy's killed more people with his car than 99% of Americans have with guns) insurance policy.

My conclusion: People who don't believe in the 2nd Amendment didn't pay attention in their 5th grade history class.

We are just getting dug out from a massive shtf here in southeast colorado . Snow has melted to the point now that i cannot get into my cattle with a 4wd pickup , but not to the point that they can graze on thier own . So far i have lost half this years calf crop , momma cows , and my good attitude. Costs for our operationsince the first if the year( the wife just ran them up for us today ) are currently running at $18,000 ( no that is not a typo it says eighteen thousand dollars )for feed , equipment rental, fuel , ect.. This does not address the death loss. We as a community pulled togeather , and made it work. Fema was not here doing press conferences , Jesse Jackson never showed up for a photo op , and i dammed shure did not get a travel trailer and a 2k credit card. No one went in search of firearms tho an idle loader or tractor was in grave danger . Point is that in MY county this crap does not and will not happen . That is why i choose to live where i do . When bad crap happens here WE help eachother , outside assistance is usualy welcome , but no one comes in here throwing thier weight around. It is vastly different from the " tv " versions of a natural desaster because in my area we do not have a real welfair class , even the folks we have on public assistance get out and help out where they can as a rule . I do love being in true RURAL America where you find values , not enablement.

    Edited to add :
As i type this post they are forecasting 6 to 10 more inches of snow . The issue with that is it will come with ( so they say ) 30 to 60 mile an hour winds , making drifts possibly 4 to 6 ft, and driving wind chill down to -10 to -30 tonight , any fresh calves will freeze before they can stand, and getting out to check cattle tomorrow is anything but shure .
Make sure you get full value out of today , Do something worthwhile, because what you do today will cost you one day off the rest of your life .

I once lived in your state for a few years. While I loved my time there (except a few things) I have to say, your wrong.

What happens if the US has a social breakdown? Or a Government one? Dont tell me it cant happen. Remember Rome?

Anyhow, who do you think is going to be pouring over the border and moving themselves up north to rape and plunder? Sure its happening now in the mid west on a MUCH smaller scale.

Gas shortage or none available? Your cattle are worthless. You cant ship them anywhere (no fuel, remember?), you dont have enough people in your area to buy or move the meat you have on hand. Even if you wanted to give it away for free.

I could go on and on with what if's, But I sure the hell am not going to say nothing can happen where I live. And I live out in the mountains.

    Hmm where to start? lol
First off i am glad you enjoyed your time in colorado . No the state is not perfect , and on the " front range " ( where basicly all the jobs are ) it is at its worst .
Now ill address the value or non value of cattle , If it reaches the point that they are not marketable , then I for one will eat good , but honestly if anything moves in america it will be the basics of food , meat and potatos so to speak .
Next lets address the illegals issue , and first off I am not an apologist , but in years past ( tho not now ) i have been an employer of what here is called " " . Purely illegals . Quite possibly its due to my local , but i have not seen :
who do you think is going to be pouring over the border and moving themselves up north to rape and plunder? Sure its happening now in the mid west on a MUCH smaller scale.
And i consider such hysterical retoric no help to the real problems that the illegals represent . They are as a class a drain on our economy , pure and simple . Howeaver i will venture to bet that among all the illegals in the US today , the portion that is criminal per capata is less than the portion of native born citizens . Most who come up here either legaly or illegaly do it for one reason only and that is money .. They feel they can live a life as a criminal and better both themselves and thier familys in mexico . Good honest folks who cannot bribe thier way through the immigration process . ( i do speak to the mexico side there not the us immigration officals ) . Folks who settle in this area dont fly mexican flags , and they learn english and assimilate . so for here no one is coming up from the border to rape and pillage . I suspect the issue is you see illegals as a news story , i still see them as people , wrong yes , bad no more than our native sons , and many times better . I am truely anti illegal , but do recognise that the vast majority intend us no harm , and only cross to make a better life . A secure border is a start , but the answer lies in thier homeland not here . As long as they can make a week to a month's money for a day of work here folks will try it .

anyway we are seeing some real topic drift here , and as stated i wouldnt be home nor would more than one or two if my firearms lol .

RedneckRepairs, I'm sorry for the rough time yall are having. Losing a calf crop and cows pretty well destroys the years efforts. Thank goodness for schedule F !I'll be praying for you guys . Bet all the guns were ruined in the snow also.
