Bought a Bushmaster A2 and it seems to have a blemish on the finish.
Maybe I'm just anal but it bothers me. I emailed Bushmaster about it but haven't gotten a reply. Anyone else seen anything like this on a new gun?

Oil might help, but Bushie should make it right.

only reason i say oil is it looks like it was sprayed with a cleaner and some will do that and you have to reoil the finish i was saying to try that first but still see what bushie says
I tried oil, looked pretty good for a while but then faded back.

Atleast it's not purple.

Sisco - you aren't anal you just want your brand new bushie to look well...brand new. I'll be interested to hear what Bushmaster says about it.

I was getting a bit disappointed with Bushmasters customer service, still hadn't gotten a reply to my email.
My bad, they replied the same day I sent it but somehow it ended up in my junk mail folder!![]()
Here is the reply:
Hello,
If you wish you can return the rifle to us for evaluation and correction.
Thank you,
Jim Eden
I'm going to send it back but not until after I've put a few rounds through it to make sure it functions OK. That's embarrassing too, had a new gun almost three weeks and haven't gotten it to the range yet.

sisco, since you're a "neighbor", if you're interested, I'll loan you my Lauer airbrush kit. I think I may have some black left, if not, it's only $12. My guess is someone got some petroleum in the anodizing tank, at BM. LMK......
Why did you buy it if it was not to your liking?
Got it at a gunshow, it was the only AR there in my price range and the dealer only had the one. In the lighting of the exhibition hall and in the excitement of owning my first EBR, I didn't notice the blems.
Lesson learned.
Rob72: Very generous offer, thank you! I can get hold of an air brush, what paint are using?

Try applying some CLP with a black or very dark blue cloth.

Blame it on Sixto - now that is a viable plan.
Return it if its not for your liking!! I am sort of "anal" on my high end firearms also. Steve48
Tried Matt's suggestion with the CLP, so far so good, time will tell.

I've had good luck with that. It is amazing the difference between applying CLP with a dark cloth and a light one or paper towel.
Bushy also suggests a non-drying motor oil: http://www.bushmaster.com/faqnew/con...=188&catid=101
Haven't tried that yet. I think the CLP gets it done.
