I have been considering getting a FFL but I have a few questions.
1. Generally speaking, how long does it take from Application to FFL in hand??
2. Can an FFL ship gun to himself? (ie.. lives in Tx, buys a gun in Fl...then ships to Tx.)
I've posted this on another forum, for those of you that may run across it.
We did have a thread a while ago on pro's and con's of getting FFL. Have no link to hand tho.
Could be later, dr_cmg can drop by as he got his FFL not so long ago.
IMO, it would be far more of a PIA to get and maintain a FFL if it was not going to be a legit business for you. I would not want to go to jail because I didnt follow some silly rule with a firearm from my own collection.
If I do this it will be for a legit business... not just a "neat thing to have". Though I get the feeling that an FFL is PITA no matter why you have one.:biggrin2:

No need to ship a gun to yourself. You purchase the gun using your FFL (not a 4473) and can personally transport it.
