Men Steal Gun, Cash From Wal-Mart Security Guard
POSTED: 12:09 pm EST February 13, 2007
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -- Police said a Wal-Mart security guard was robbed of her gun and cash on Tuesday.
It happened in the store's parking lot on Northwest 27th Avenue at 195th Street in Miami Gardens.
Police said two men grabbed the security guard and demanded her weapon and cash.
The 37-year-old handed over a .357 revolver and $150 in cash.
Police said the men fled in a silver, four-door Chevrolet Impala that may have been stolen earlier in the day.
Anyone with information should call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.

Just glad she wasn't hurt. We used to live in that area and I'm glad we moved when we did.

The problem that private security personnel are faced with is similar to what many LEO's now also have to deal with: The issues of liability resulting from the use of deadly force has been so drilled into them by administrators/trainers that the result is often hesitation at a critical moment. For LEO's, there is at least some hope of help from their F.O.P. rep in terms of legal assistance, but some poor schmuck working for mininum wage as a security guard is pretty much on their own. It is a terrible situation to put anyone in...

The SO is probably from an outside company subcontracted to Wallyworld and probably making $10/h and that means no incentive and you are cheaper to let go to jail than defend you. But 2cents is right, tactically she was in condtion white as clouds.
