I'm looking at Glock 19's...
I don't know why, but ever since I saw those two tone ones I think Stoveman posted, they've been in the dark recesses of my mind...
I don't own a Glock anymore. I do collect guns as well as shoot them, so I like diversity... and hey, G19 is the answer to every question, so I might as well jump on the bandwagon :duh:
Simply speaking, it's a pistol I want to own and get good with. Just for my own personal satisfaction.
I've been leaning towards the Gen 3. Was there a problem with them that Glock said they had to beef up the guide rod?
Is there anything else mechanically different?
Which one will be worth more in thirty years, the Gen 3 or 4? OK, just kidding about that last question
Anyway, I think I'm going to get me one. I'll work the trigger guard a little so it's a little more comfortable on the middle finger, but maybe it will fit my hand differently than that 41 did, which was rather large and blocky. So I'll go small and blocky.
I will do my best.
I'm the guy who leaves his Mosin Nagants alone and shoots them as is. Certainly I can come to love the Glock :biggrin2:
Just need to find a real world use for it... but that might come.
The Glock Gen 3's that are in current production have some different parts than the older Gen 3's, but still have the single recoil spring exc. and work just fine. Enjoy it!
I am drawn, like a moth to a flame...
But seriously, I'd love to find one local. I have an M&P 40 Pro I'm not using anymore. I'd love to offload it for something I'd play with.
Plastic out. Plastic in. Or something like that.

I think most people prefer/choose either the Gen3 or the Gen4 because of the difference in how the grip is made and the optional backstraps that come with the Gen4. Not so much because of the guide rods. Cold be wrong. Have been before. Will be again.
I'm a Gen3 person. And I dremmel the trigger guards on all of my GLocks except the skinny 42 so I don't wind up with 'Glock Knuckle', which is real and hurts.
No sir. I do not. I own many different pistols. I don't own any Glocks. Not because they are bad guns. But because the grip angle was designed by Vlad the Impaler.
Bought one last week, Gen3 in OD green. I put another 100 rounds through it today with some new sights. It is quick becoming my favorite carry gun. Do it!
Zonker will be along soon to post his 31,32 and 33 2 toners..
I'm sure that you enjoy your new 19... when you get it. I can't say anything for or against the gen 4's because I haven't owned one, but I can only say good things for my gen 3's.
I picked up a 2002 Glock 23c yesterday that you could not even tell it had ever been fired. Must have been a safe queen gun. I traded in a m&p9c and $50.00 for it. It looks like it's new from the factory.
Don't feel bad PA. I just picked up my first 17 this week. Haven't even shot it yet. But I just worked a deal to get a 32 including a Lone Wolf 9mm barrel as well. I'll pick it up tomorrow.
I prefer the Gen 3 guns. The texture of the ten 4 is a turn off for me. I'm a Sig guy through and through, but I've been feeling a strong urge to diversify. My broker would be proud (if I had one).

Just to let you know if you don't already, the barrel for the 23 (.40) also drops right in your 32 to make it shoot .40 with the same mags. 3 in 1
There was only a minor problem with the Gen 4's, like, 5 years ago, that was easily fixed.
But regardless of what Glock generation you get, the G19 is a workhorse. Concealable (barely). Mine's got 1,872 rounds through it (tracking courtesy of Glock ID) and it's never failed once. I had one out of 1,000 rounds of Tula FTF and that's it (definitely the ammo).
Glocks are also highly durable. I've swam with my G43. I sprayed it out with solid film lube afterwards and fired 200 rounds at the range, not a single hiccup.
Glocks aren't perfect, or the best pistol in the universe, but they are what they claim to be: durable and reliable.
I've already got my loop figured out. I'm "on a mission" ya know...
If worse comes to worse I'll finish up at Gander Mtn and F&S. I can't imagine F&S wouldn't have what I'm looking for. They've got a huge display of all makes. Trade in value might not be as good though. We shall see.
To be honest, I do have one on consignment at my favorite LGS.
