Walther P-38/P1 's, any good?

This is in general firearms, because for CC, it doesn't look like it would fill that role very well.

My dad was bored one day at work and looking around Aimsurplus's website, decided he wanted a p-38m took a long lunch and bought one.

Anyone know anything about these? Yeah, they were the standard issued sidearm of the German military in WW2. Any quirks with them or anything? Anything to look out for?

I figured out how to take it apart and everything looks ok despite its age, good looking bore, but haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. Just seeing if anyone else has any pertinent info about them.

I have a p-38 that came home as a war trophy.I was the first one that shot it with any degree of regularity.As far as the war one the
early ones ar the better made ones. France took over making them
and I think,I not sure so others join in please the french made frames
out of aluminum which are not as good.Ehither way this design was way ahead of it's time.
