If you need to adopt another kid, or you could just put me in your will.

To bad he didn't have family to give that to. I would have loved something like that from my grandpa. The only thing I have from my Grandpa's military hitch is his three foot B&W unit pic.

I don't think checkered is quite the right term,
Correct, it is a two piece stamped trigger, knurling would be the right term.

Fine looking Ithaca by the way, congrats.

Wow! I had to buy a Springfield WWII copy as I couldn't afford the real thing. You have a great gun there and a wonderful story to go with it, not just the history of the weapon but meeting it's original owner and hearing it directly from him. These are two of my favorite things, guns and American history.

Seeing as how I only had pictures of the Ithaca in a hotel bathroom counter I figured I'd spruce some pics up a little bit, while Limatunes is the author in the family I think I have her beat as photographer

    Pretty awesome find.

    Nice pics too.
A real man loves his wife, and places his family as the most important thing in life. Nothing has brought me more peace and content in life than simply being a good husband and father.

I will concede to this! However.... hehehe ... You can't do the editing to the pictures AFTER you take them like I can.

    Damn, what a buy!
Its a shame that old timer had to get rid of it.
Im glad it went into your hands, you know how to appreciate the history that came with it.
