Took the girls shooting this afternoon. There is nothing that is as much fun as taking my kids to the range. This was first time that they have shot the new AR. They posed for some pics after we were done. I think the smiles say it all.
FYI: They posed for these pics after we were done shoot, hence no ear or eye protection.
Take a kid shooting... they'll have a great time, and so will you!
When the messenger arrives and says 'Don't shoot the messenger,' it's a good idea to be prepared to shoot the messenger, just in case.

Outstanding. The ranges I've been to around here will only let the kids shoot rimfire rifles. I'd really like to find a place in the detroit, tri-county area that will let them shoot handguns.

Your older girls grip on the pistol makes me cringe though. Dont start them with bad habits and I hate for her to get bit by the slide and get turned of shooting.

Those are nice looking kids. They will end up knowing how to handle fire arms safely. Thats the way I brought mine up.
Those are some great pictures. I'm glad they enjoyed themselves. I can't wait to be able to do this with my kids... then again, we have to have one first.

I am a firm believer that you cannot start too early teaching children about firearms. Several benefits... teaches safety and removes the mystique of "off limit guns", provides for quality time together and passes on the knowledge that 2A is alive and practiced.
My 2 boys and their younger sister (now 30,22 and 21) were raised around various firearms and when they expressed the desire to learn about them, I took that opportunity to teach them to shoot and safety and respect for what these tools could do. My daughter and wife both enjoy going to the range and one son enjoys hunting with dear ole dad. My oldest and his wife like going to the range with me when they come to visit.
I highly recommend that we all do our part to teach our youth.

LBrombach, shoot with my kids at Pontiac Lake DNR range near Waterford, behind Oakland Airport. Also, Oakland County Sportsman Club. Also Target Sports in Royal Oak allowed my 13 YO to shoot pistol.

My 19 year old daughter really doesn't want much to do with her old dad any more, but I can always get her to go to the range with me!

I've taken my nephew shooting before and he's done great. Start 'em young before the schools have a chance to spoil them.
I plan on taking my soon to be son as soon as he can hold the gun.
