Goodness gracious, I cannot remember hearing of such a thing at a range before! Here's hoping that it resolves peacefully with the perpetrator in custody and no one injured!!

    That's Pretty Close...

At a gun range? Of the ranges I use, CCW'ers do not have to remove their weapon from cover. If they want to use the EDC, they do have to use a special area to retrieve or replace the weapon.

Wouldn't there be a number of individuals with 'hidden' weapons?

    Hope all goes well...

    Stay armed...stay safe!

hope all turns out well. not to steal the thread, at the range I go to, they teach the concealed carry class and are very friendly to ccw's. not a problem to carry in concealed, use the range and leave concealed.

They are flying a negotiator in now. Sorta slow IMO. Started at 4:23 and they are just now getting a negotiator in. (Of course I dont know the circumstance behind that)

Apart from that local business have been told to lock the doors and not to leave until given permission. The part of the highway has been shut down.

As for the people inside and how bad the situation is its unknown.

The range here is pretty strict about bringing in firearms out of case. I recall being there when someone came in open concealed (not legal here) and the guy behind the counter made the guy put his hands up partially while he (the worker) removed his revolver. So the guys here are usually very very aware of whats going on around em. I'm guessing the guy holding the place up must have just barged in weapons drawn and the workers didnt have a chance to respond.

Theres an elderly gentleman that works there sometime that i'm concerned about. Hopefully hes not working today and the young guys are keeping calm.

Is it a robbery gone wrong or a disgruntled ex?

Whichever it is the perp would appear to be going out in a bag IMHO.

Details on that arent clear. The only news station calling it a hostage situation was the link I posted. Other stations here are calling it a major threat to the area. Not very informative. Ill keep you updated as I hear more.

Whatever else is true, the anti's will have a field day by leveraging the incident. No matter the result, it will provide more ammunition for those wanting to control the use of firearms by others.

If the BG hasn't started shooting yet, chances are they can end it peacefully. Let us hope that everyone comes out of it all right.
