Mag Release on S/A Micro Compact

I posted the same question on the 1911 site but I'm also hoping someone from in here might be able to help.

The magazine release on my Micro-Compact .45 is on the left side. I'm a left handed shooter and was wondering if it is possible to swap it over to the right hand side? Easily done?

Probably can be done. as a LH shooter I just use my middle finger to release the mag.

I don’t know of anyone who makes an a left handed mag release for a 1911 it does not look to be easy to do, would have to be pulled instead of being pressed to release. With practice releasing the mag with the trigger finger of the left hand is not difficult, sometimes installing an extended mag release such as the one from Wilson Combat helps.

I'm also a lefty and I just happen to own a S/A Micro Compact .45. I don't know of anyone that will switch the release... sorry!

Like others have said, with practice you will be able to use your trigger or middle finger to release the mag. As a lefty I'm sure your used to making adjustments..

I think that in some areas our RH brothers will have the benefit of products being designed for them. We leftys will just have to make up for it by being a better shot...

Sorry I couldn't help, good luck!

There are ambi mag releases but usually require a little fitting by a gunsmith to insure proper operation. I've even got one in my parts stash that I'll have installed one day.
