Ah, yes, another "The trigger pulls the finger" argument, this time from Ms. Hoffman. I thought that Galileo settled the whole thing about efficient causes centuries ago....

    Silly me.

So "Someone intent on buying one is going to find a way," but we need to make it harder for those who want them legally to get one?

Well, Galileo ended up being judged a 'heretic' & spent the rest of his days on house arrest..............

Sure, and the Lion blends in with the grass prior to the pounce. Reality dictates, however, that precautions and ability to resist potential attack are still rational steps to take, despite appearances, lest zero ability to survive is the goal.

I'm pretty sure it's that simple, at the core: people who are rabidly against the ability of people to defend themselves are ultimately gunning for death of the good guys. Ayn Rand was right.

Exactly. And how many CHL holders are the lion??? Nearly none. People who legally apply for permits aren't the one's laying in wait. To argue otherwise is obsurd. Those who commit crimes with weapons and have their CHL/CWP/Etc are generally those convited of shooting when the local laws may not have said they were completely justified - though maybe morally they were.
