It was a good day on the range...

Today was a stormy day all day. I had to recert. with three guns, and it was pouring rain the whole time. I dont know why, but I love to shoot in the rain. Maybe it is a throw back to my infantry days, who knows.
The more I shoot my 220, the more I love it. It makes me look wicked with a pistol, when my real claim to fame is long guns. The first drill was 6 shots at 50ft... The others swore I only shot three shots the group was so tight, until we checked the targets. I did throw the last one, it went high for a head shot.
I finished the course and moved on to shoot my G23 and PM9.
I had forgot how snappy the G23 is! I also got spoiled by shooting Sigs mostly for the last year or so, but once I got into the Glock mode I was fine.
The PM9... I still think its the perfect CCW. Soft shooting, deadly accurate and very reliable. I was making 75ft shots with it, zipping 115gr right where they needed to go.
I wish I got to do some rifle work, but nobody wanted to play with me.

I just got done cleaning up my pistols, I think I cleaned more mud out of my guns than shootin' residue. When the guns come home muddy, you know it was a good day on the range.

Sounds like fun. I enjoy shooting and other outdoor activities in bad weather.

LOL... I have not yet had the privilege of experiencing this but I'm sure you are correct.

My mother used to say the muddier I was when I came in from playing the more fun she knew I had. I'm sure the same translates to shooting.

No one wanted to play with the rifles? For shame.

I'm glad you had a good day.

I should have left the mud on or at least took a picture. They look good muddy, the 220 in particular.

I was supposed to go clay pigeon shooting Wednesday, but the weather was not to the liking of my friend who was going with me, and I didn't feel like throwing the clays for myself, so I just went to the gun shop and got some supplies.

This is some lovely spring weather we are having around here. Trucks, firearms, 4-wheelers, football uniforms, and many other things are always made better by a recently applied thick layer of mud.

"Mud. The Original Dark Earth!" sounds like a good tag line for someone.

Sounds like a great session but - as for rain and mud! Not for me any more!

I have a ''thing'' about getting wet or crud inside a gun's internals - maybe too lazy these days to have to go the extra mile with cleaning!

I am a fair weather biker - and shooter, these days
