The mdl 13 and the mdl 19 are K frame revolvers made for .357 ammo, what is the difference between those frames and my mdl 10-5's one is dated 1961 and the other 1975 in 38 spl only.
I've been told not to shoot +P ammo as those early K frames aren't made for it.My carry gun is the 10-5 with a SB and a 2" barrel and I want to carry 158gr LSWHP+P's in it.
Can anyone give me some advise?
General rule of thumb with older model 19s is .38 or .38+p for range practice, .357 for carry duty. They can shoot .357, but the frame design was intended for .38; the 19 is just beefed up to take the punishment of .357 occasionally.
The main difference in the K frame revolvers is in the heat treatment of the steel for the .357 models.
