I found an interesting pistol today

Its a Llama Especial .22 LR.
It looks like an exact copy of a 1911 in miniature. Grip and trigger safety and as big as my colt mustang and a nice shade of blue. She comes with an extra magazine. The pistol is prob 30 years old, but very nice, not worn and used to death.
    Anyone know the piece ?

Not an exact copy. A lot of people lump the early Llamas into the POS category, not to spec with true 1911's so parts generally aren't interchangeable.

I have one in 9mm about the same age or older that belonged to my Dad. It was always a jam-o-matic until I figured out what the problem was; Dad always thought is was 9mm Luger, I discovered it was actually 9mm Largo. Put the right ammo in it and it works OK for a plinker.
I'm a child of the 60's, but I got over it.

Had one, bought it new in the late '60's. Not at all a bad gun, but quality control was apparently a sometimes thing with Llama back then. The one I had was accurate enough for casual use and very concealable. One thing you ought to be aware of was that mine dumped two extractors while I was shooting CCI mini mags. I replaced the part and switched to Remington gold and the problem was solved.

On reflection I'd like to state that the recoil spring was probably too light....

My father has the .22, .380., 9mm and .45 versions. I guess he likes the set. I personally have no use for them.

thanx for the input...I decided to not pursue ownership of this $200 paperweight.
