A safer campus for you and for me...

So, I just noticed that where I work (a university) we have brand new "no guns" stickers on all the entry doors on all the buildings. They did more than replace the old ones, however. Now, in the case of a double door, there are stickers on both doors. One theater with a large glass front and glass doors placed every several feet has one prominently displayed on every door.

Gosh. I feel so much safer.

    It's almost comical.

    Manzanita,

I Love that avatar. Can you at least carry some OC spray or something.

Me being the smarta$$, I'd ask them why they don't put up some "no bad grades" signs, since they are putting so much faith in these. But that's just me.

Yeah I would "feel safer" like that... but as we have learned at VT there is a dramatic difference between feeling safe and being safe.

    The liberal mindset

When something doesn't work, a liberal's solution is to just do more of whatever it is.

If welfare isn't reducing poverty, we need to spend more on welfare. If no gun signs aren't reducing school shootings, we need to have more and bigger no gun signs.

The alternative is too painful for the liberal to contemplate - that maybe his solution was wrong and he needs to change direction.

Well it looks to me like that sign is really saying no revolvers, not no guns... And if pistols aren't okay, how 'bout a 12 guage semi auto under a trench coat...with permit of course.

    Such a strange mentality.

I heard a commentator the other day saying how allowing students to carry guns would only have increased the death toll at Tech because the students would miss and hit each other instead of the killer.

I wonder what color the sky is in the gun grabber's world????

It almost wants you make a sign to put under each one that says.

"Blank" University's solution to a firearm massacre prevention.

With all of the effort that went in to this, they should have had a press conference. What a stupid, ineffective, knee-jerk reaction.

Well heck, my college has had those up for years, and its so safe. There aren't violent crimes on campus every week or anything like that (sarcasm off).

Did they say no bright orange BP vests? That would get some attention.

-I am in no way affiliated with the store at that link. I just used that one as an example as I know they usually have them in stock..which means they have a picture.

Maybe you should just all get T shirts printed up that have an arrow pointing to one side that says "Shoot the guy next to me instead, he counts as two"....

Ask them to assign you an armed guard to accompany you everywhere since they have taken away your ability to protect yourself. Because they just took on that responsibility... and I would make them live up to it. Get all your friends to put in requests too.

I'm glad I can ignore those signs in Texas. A legal sign in Texas is much more involved and much larger, thus much more bothersome and expensive to install. http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/adminis...ignposting.htm
