Man faces possible charges after wounding attacker.

This poor guy did about everything wrong you could and you have to feel sorry for him. I hope he comes out of this alright. I sure sympathize with him.

this is why this countries values and legal ideology is BULL^$^$

Those scumbags would NEVER have been shot at if they didn't mug him.

Victims have less rights than criminals which is why you shoot to kill. No witnesses.

"Current Minnesota law says it's justifiable to kill someone if you are "resisting or preventing an offense" that you "reasonably" believe could lead to "great bodily harm or death" for you or another person."

I doubt they asked him for his wallet with a pretty please and a thank you. It's the threat of "great bodily harm or death" that they use to rob you. Otherwise why would anyone give them anything?

Three young guys attack an old man and the old man ends up in jail.

It's the sad reality of the world we live in.

We seem to understand the hell out of the scumbags but can't work up any compassion for the true victim.

    God! I'm getting old.

When this guy needed help it took a while for any one to respond. There should have been someone at the jail who could have helped but thats in a perfect world. I can't believe that the two punks were not arrested and jailed.

Here in Oklahoma, we have the "make my day" law, and the "stand your ground" law....you have the right to defend yourself with deadly force if need be...no matter where you are. But you better be licensed if your not on your property or in your home.
Better to be tried by 12, than carried by 6

68 year old man defends himself and goes to jail. Muggers go free. What's wrong with this country? This is disgusting.

Has Minnesota declaired open season on senior citizens, or is mugging now a protected 'right'?

I don't think it would help much as this guy did not have a permit to carry. The average citizen, who has never taken a carry class, has no idea what laws apply in a situation like this. In a split second, while under attack from 3 sides, he has to evaluate if he has a route of escape and use it if available, understand if he is really in fear of GBH or death, determine that he did not bring this upon himself or escalate the situation, then draw and shoot. Fat chance most people have.

Not the way i read it.

This is from OK Statutes 21. Sec. 1289.25.I

"I. The provisions of this section and the provisions of the Oklahoma Self-Defense Act, Sections 1290.1 through 1290.26 of this title, shall not be construed to require any person using a pistol pursuant to the provisions of this section to be licensed in any manner."
