The wife and I went to the gun store...
this weekend to check on a rifle I had there on consignment. I'm lucky enough that the wife actually likes to go shooting with me and in general, thinks guns are a good thing. She had mentioned the last time we went to the range that she enjoyed shooting my Custom II alot more that the 9mm she has. Long story short, the rifle hadn't sold yet and she picked out a ProCarry II that seemed to fit her "like a glove". I traded the rifle and a few bucks and she's now a proud Kimber owner. She told me that was the best Mother's Day gift...ever.
We spent Saturday night going over the instructions and breaking the pistol down and cleaning it. After we had done it together, she then did it on her own. We've practiced (with dummy rounds) trigger pull and grip, loading and unloading, and all the safety precautions I know plus the ones in the book. I think we're now ready for a range trip...this should be fun. I believe this will lead to her getting her concealed carry license. I can't recall a Mother's Day quite like this...

That is what great Mother's Days are made of
Sounds more than encouraging and hope the enthusiasm is sustained.

Bringin' out the "momma bear" in every mother. Congrats on the great day.

Very neat! I'm glad she's liking her new "toy."
I wish I could have a new Kimber for Mother's Day.

Sounds lie a great Mother's Day! Much better than flowers.

Last summer we stopped by the local shop so I could pay on a layaway. We were on our way to a car show--her hobby. She spotted a smallish auto in the case:"Let me see that one!" The pristine EG Mak grip fit her hand nicely. On layaway. She's not allowed in there anymore! Just kidding. Ironic part: I'd sold (foolishly) a very nice EG Mak a couple months earlier to finance a Blackhawk to hunt deer with.
Stay safe.
