    Gun "Coatings"

Are there any available gun coatings (like Dianondkote, etc...) out there that can be done at home or is there a reason gunsmiths charge out the yang for it? If so please post links if possible. I'd like to do a blued gun of mine in a more durrable finish.

    Duracoat can be easily applied.

All it takes is an airbrush.

The coating is very durable and it hardens with age. It comes in many colors and many camo patterns are available.

    Here ya go..

That would be "GunKote" I think.

Spray it on then bake it at 350 for a couple hours.

I agree. Duracoat is an outstanding finish and I have done several of my own guns with excellant results.

Here are some pictures of Norrell molly resin finishes.

One done in Flat Grey (an old Colt military finish with a hint of green tint in it)

A few AK rifles done in Flat Black SOCOM. The Mags were redone in it too...

Very hard durable finish. Airbrush on and bake for 1 hour at 300 F.
