Gun safe dividers to put guns vertically

My safe is getting too small to lay my handguns down so I need to figure out a way to make dividers so I can store them vertically.

I'm looking for ideas of what others have used. So let me know how you keep your handguns vertical. Thanks.

they are available premade (such as the example above) and theres a fabric type that hangs from the inside of your safe door that works well.

My answer was to get extra shelf support clips and then make extra shelves .... so my guns still lay on their side. Mind you, in a few cases even so - there are two or three have to lay over others, courtesy of a lightly greased layer of bubble wrap!

There is just one shelf with major height space to spare. All the grey shelves are extras.

Best idea I've seen f/fom, he hung a wooden dowel across the safe, slides through trigger guards.

    Foam Gun Racks

I've used these in my safe and they're pretty good.

    Hyskore Modular 3-Gun Handgun Rack

Handgun Rack is made from high-density, closed cell, non-reactive foam that will not absorb moisture and does not react with lubricants or solvents. Rack offers suede-like interior that will not harm delicate finishes. Measures 8-1/4" x 7-1/2" x 6".

For lined safes, add a couple of self-adhesive velcro "dots" to keep them up against the back wall or on the bottom to keep them in place on the carpeted shelves.

I just use plastic coated dish racks. They normally cost under $5 and hold 6-8 pistols each.

I bought a pot lid rack at Lowes for about $10.00, it is made of heavy duty, plastic coated wire and it will hold 9 pistols and is about 12 inches long. Works great and is guaranteed not to rust, bust or collect dust. It looks like the one dr_cmg showed in his thread, #5 but holds half as many more guns at half the price.

I may have to look at Lowe's for the pot lid rack. Since Sportsmans Guide did not have a picture of the double rack I thought I would post a couple of mine in use. You can see by the picture that the rack takes up very little space in the safe. The second layer allows an additional 6 firearms to be stored in the same floor space. It does increase the space between shelves, but I had plenty of that.

I'll check when I go home at lunch and post the measurements then.

Found the dimensions on line. I'll check at home to make sure mine match, but here are the ones I found. 13½”long x 4”wide x 10½”high

This came from a closed GunBroker auction that is over, but the photos show the one I have including the box it came in.
