Price check on SIG.
I have a SIG P232 that I am thinking of letting go. My good friend has come around to the concept of carrying and after trying a variety of handguns likes the SIG. He didn't like the price so much when he heard what they go for.
So, I'm willing to do him a deal and give him my gun and accessories at a discounted price. That way he gets a good gun that he knows he likes and knows has been broken in with care.
It is the blued version with SIG night sights.
Hogue grips but will include the factory grips.
Four seven round mags.
Don Hume JIT holster.
SIG hardcase and manual.
Box of 20 Cor-Bon Pow'R ball in .380.
Gun is in nearly new condition, shows some evidence of holstering.
One year old.
I was thinking $500.
Is that too low, am I doing him too much of a favor or is that about right?
I have to ask as I got it in a trade and I can't recall exactly what they go for here with the night sights, I think $600-650.
Thanks.

I have seen well used fetching $450 - that was Gander Mtn .... and IIRC a 220 or 226.
I am thinking if yours is so young, four mags, holster etc ..... could well be $550 still a good deal for him. Only my 2c.

Thanks Chris, I thought I was about right but I'll wait for a few more opinions.
He's just had his first kid and while he earns a good wage (another Lobbyist) he doesn't have the money for guns that I have.
I want to do him a favor but not be too cheap on myself. I think $500 is probably right.

$500 is a pretty darn good deal with the accessiories.
Prices I've seen compare with Chris' then again were in the same state, but prices on the eastern half are usually higher.
Check out Gunsamerica, you can see lots of sellers prices. It's a very good tool for finding out how much to pay or how much to sell for.

GunsAmerica is a good tip, I looked on Gunbroker but they were all NIB.

I say 500 is in the right ball park. However, it might be a hard sell because it is a "dated" design, and a 9mm can be had in the same size and weight class.

He just plain likes it.
He tried a few 9mms, Glock and XD and preferred the SIG.
He liked the 'feel' of it and how slim it is.
So it's sold as far as selling is concerned, I just needed confirmation on the price. Which coming from you Sixto is all the confirmation I needed.
Thanks.

I would snatch it up at that price. My wife has started to come around to the idea of getting her CHL and I want her to try the 232. I think it will fit the bill perfectly.
Yeah I like Glocks, wanna fight about it!

I asked at the store and they sell new for $579, used for $499.
So to cut him a deal we're looking at $450, which will get me an XD45 I suppose, not a bad state of affairs all round.
I let him take it home after the range so he could show it to the 'finance officer'.

$450 is an ok deal witht he accessories. Retail is $573. + accessories.
Place in town sells new Stainless ones for $660 which is about $140 off retail. My P239 w/ nightsights was $115 lower than retail.
