I finally got one! The wife promised to pay for a Ruger Gold Label SXS if I could find one. Scored yesterday. It has been a hectic 2 months with buying a new home, moving, preping the old home and selling it. One more load of things from the old house and I am done (well at least done getting it here). The shotgun is a nice reward for all of the work. Pics.....Of course! I don't want Darth Vadar after me.

This is the new Ruger Side x Side, called the Gold Label. They have a Red Label too that is an over and under. Swifty, I also have been known to partake of the liquid version of the red label, Compadre.
I can't wait to shoot it. Taking it to the skeet range at the local base this next week. Range report to follow!

I love the large trigger guards on the Gold Labels so they are easier to shoot with gloves.

Nice lookin shotty. I've always had a thing for side-by's, just something cool about em. The mix of stainless and blued metal looks good too.
Just out of curiosity, why did you go with the straight stock instead of a pistol grip?
Also just to make sure I haven't had too much No.7 black label this weekend, that double only has one trigger, correct?

Yep, single selective trigger. I went with the straight stock as I have several 16 ga sXs that have the straight stock and I use them quite well. Thought I shouldn't change something that works.Originally Posted by buckeye07
Now my Red Label O/U has a pistol grip and that also works fine for me. I love to bird hunt and this fills a niche for me for hungarian partridge/chukar hunting. Light, doesn't get much shooting (more walking than shooting) and still has the 12 ga punch.
Wind is howling right now and cold so I didn't get to go shoot it today. Wednesday is my next opportunity. I can't wait!

A good lever action rifle in .45LC with a straight stock is on my list of things to buy, I like the way it looks, but was just wondering.
Let us know how it shoots, should be pretty smooth.
