    Gun display stands

I seem to be full of questions lately but you folks are so full of good information!

Anyone know of any decent, cheap wood display stands for a couple of pistols? I have some blackpower revolvers and would like to display them on the mantle. They are nothing special but I think would look pretty cool over the fireplace. I'd make them myself if I had the skills.

    Thanks.

I do not know of anything ''of the shelf''.

Should not be too hard to make ya know! Let's imagine a base of 1" thick hardwood (planed it will be 3/4") ..... perhaps 5" x 8". Cut another of same size and affix vertically to center or just behind center to base .... then drill two holes in that for dowel pegs. Sand everything of course and stain/oil/varnish to suit.

If x2 then make each a mirror of the other ........ attach revo's onto pegs and ''voila'' ........ not too bad. Position pegs to suit angle required for display - one to go thru trigger guard - other to support barrel.

If you tell me the gun sizes (bbl length mainly) - I could draw you up a simple plan.

Thanks Chris. I have looked around some for some stands but can't seem to find any. I'm sure if you have the tools and some basic skills it would be pretty easy but unfortunately I have few skills and don't have the proper saw, etc to make something like this. My wife's uncle is good at work working, I'll have to ask him.

Well that would help - and still, if you want a drawing of what I think would work nicely, just say - plus give the gun sizes!

That is just the first two results from a Google search for 'Pistol Rack'.

lol You know I did a Google and/or Yahoo search just not that long ago and nothing came up. Tonight, on your suggestion I did one and found one or two right off the bat. I am looking for something in wood that is more a display than something you'd put in a safe. Funny the difference a couple of weeks can make in something like this.

    Thanks.
