Sister Cleans HER Rifle
It has been about 2 months now since my sister has been to the range, the last time that she was there was with my uncle and I and her .22 rifle had yet to be cleaned. She has a legitamate excuse she did not know how. After she got out of school today she and I went up to a local sporting goods shop and picked up a new universal cleaning kit. I had a pistol cleaning kit that I had stealing from my father to clean mine. I just got a range bag recently and decided I needed my own cleaning kit to keep in my bag. After we got home, I showed her how to break down her rifle and worked her through cleaning her rifle. She was extreemly happy and methodical about cleaning it. I was glad to see her take to it because that is one less gun for me to clean and now she will be able to maintain her own firearm.
Pictures to follow.

Self maintenance of guns is the ideal IMO - in particular for newer shooters. It teaches them more about the gun's workings etc.
However - I have to say - at my time of life, I'd be only too happy now to pass the chore with my guns, to someone else

Me it sounds like your sis is going to be a gunowner we all can respect .
Make sure you get full value out of today , Do something worthwhile, because what you do today will cost you one day off the rest of your life .

Nothing like a sister you can depend upon in a gunfight...
Stay armed...with a clean gun...stay safe!

Good deal, I know people that won't clean their weapons for months even if they take it out and shoot it fairly often, after being in the service that always seemed like the wrong approach to me.
