This has been beaten to death, I'll leave this thread up for a little while but as you can see it's been brought up in quite a few different ways. It still makes for a good read though.

If you could have only one (Bad dream)

If you can only have ONE!

If you could only carry ONE concealed handgun

    Only one?

    Only One? (With a Twist)

but my favorite EDC, my Kimber Ultra, is being seriously challenged by my Glock-36...I'm trying hard not to let that happen...

I'd buy a Springfeild trophy match, and I'd then have to figure out how to conceal a humongous gun. But at least I'd have the finest gun I can afford. :)

2nd Generation Glock 23. IMO, it is the most balanced, pointable and versatile "carry" gun there is. It's big enough for duty use, yet compact enough for concealment AND it chambers one ******* round and a lot of them!

Of course, it only takes one!

    Deja vu

I've responded to this question a couple of times in the past.

If you could only have one handgun, it would have to be a compromise gun that was suitable for CCW, home defense and lots of range shooting. It would have to be a very durable and reliable gun that was not too big and not too small, in a "medium" caliber.

I would pick a .40 S&W gun (the great compromise caliber) of a very solid, well respected brand like Sig. I think the model P229 would be perfect:

I'm not even gonna try. I'll start thinkin about all the ones I couldn't have and I'd start crying.
“You come at me with a sword and with a spear. But I come at you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the LORD will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you". 1 Samuel 17, 45-46

Nice choice. I'm no Sig lover by any means, but the 228 & 229 are the ones that I do like.

A .357 revolver with a 4" barrel and adjustable rear sight. Potent cartridge with a variety of optional loadings.

Nice choice, Pogo. I'm a Sig fan as well.

I'm for the gun I currently carry: HK USP Compact .40 S&W
