Question about a Mossberg shotgun light mount

I have a question and even though it deals with a shotgun, I hope someone here can help me out:

    I have a Mossberg 500A 12 gauge shotgun.

I also have the Glock rail light that mounts on my Glock Model 23.

Are there any mounts made that would allow me to use the Glock rail light on the shotgun, or would I be better off buying a different type of light to mount on it ?

    Thanks in advance,'
    Dave

Don't know a thing about 500's, but is that an Evo Ultra? Nice.

Twin Cam, 2002 model with old style round air filter cover. The picture was taken two weeks ago, right after I purchased a new exhaust system, the Rinehart 2 into 1.

    High Dave - how's things?

I cannot answer your question totally but seem to recall a fixture from somewhere that fitted the barrel - then to take a tac light. maybe someone can assist.

Nice bike sir - I have Rineharts on my VTX - silly expensive but love 'em

There are several others out there! This is just what I can find on short order that should work for you, depending on the type of light you have. Should work with the "Insight Lights" as well.

If i remember right the Glock uses a Standard Rail so you should be able to buy a insight light to fit both once you fit the rail onto the mossie

Insight makes another mount that clamps to the magazine tube and has a rail. It's a CFL 900:

It's much "cleaner" looking than the older style. This is the mount I use on my M1S90 with an Insight M3X.

brownells sells a tri rail that you can mout to the mag tube. It's expensive but it's very well made and has a very good fit/finish. I'll try to get some pictures for you.

    Thanks everyone.

I appreciate the information. just figured it might be easier if I could use the Glock rail light on the shotgun also.... less to try and keep up with in a pinch.

raysheen, what you are describing sounds like it might work.

P95Carry, I have liked the Rineharts for a while, but also thought they were just too expensive and I did not want a true dual system. I already had a Bub 2 into 1 on the bike, Bub makes the Rinehart and the older Bub system I had was discontinued after they produced the Rinehart True Dual Sustem. I did not know that Bub/Rinehart came out with this new 2 into 1 until a friend of mine showed up one day with the new version on his Electra Glide Classic.

Needless to say, I 'HAD' to have one, LOL !

Guns and Harleys are two equally expensive lifestyles........

Sorry DaveT, I don't mean to hijack this thread, but you got me wondering. Shotguns seem to have more recoil then most pistols. Will an Insight light stand up to that recoil?

Besides HD I use my M1S90 with M3X for muskrat/beaver control, I've also taken two low-light classes with it. Probably right around 2-300 rounds with the light on.

    So far, so good.

Another benefit of this system is you can quickly remove the light for daytime practice and save some wear and tear.

This is what I did with my Mossy Persuader (500)...

(Click on thumbnail for full-sized pic)

The flashlight is a SureFire 6P with the 120-lumen bulb in it. The mount is a AimShot MT61178. It took a little rigging to get it to work, but it beats the snot outta the plastic clamps that shook loose after 3-5 shots. Save yourself the trouble, do not buy those.

    Hope this helps...

    Cheers! M2
