Nice going. When I turned 19, I took my dad to a gunstore and had him buy me a Ruger MK 1 .22 auto. Sadly I have neither now.

I never had children (I'm 47) by choice but I try to spoil my only nephew with the occasional gun and many knives.

My father never was interested in guns, but he indulged me many times when I was a "few" bucks short!

I hope you and your son enjoy your hobby for many years.

    He's a lucky son.
I had the misfortune of loosing my dad before birth.
But my mother bought me a Russian SKS for my 15th B-day once.

    Excellent

Now, to get him to the range and teach him all you know that he hasn't already got from you, plus naturally top emphasis on safety. Bet he'll be out-shooting you before long!!

    CCW soon too maybe?

Well I can tell you from experience, when I turned 18, my father bought me a S&W 459. To this day, other than my wife and children, it was the best gift that I have ever been blessed to receive. Nice Job!

Very good now just get him his CCW and you'll be all set.

With me it is a tradition, kid turns 21, I take them to a local gun store, N tell them to pick out a pistol that is comfortable for CCW. They do the NICS, I do the cash, then I buy them a K of ammo to practice with, pay for their CCW class, and permit fees, after that it is up to them to stay current.

He is mostly a rifle shooter.
I've got almost every caliber from .22 to .45, he's shot all of them.
He is alittle faster on the draw, but, I'm still more accurate.
CCW class in 3 weeks! I'll pay for it and then he's on his budget.
SORRY, I'm NOT adopting anyone! hahahaha
