Marlin 60
Was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to mount a scope on one of these? I know this seems to be a very basic setup, but for some reason about the time I am getting my scope zeroed in the darn thing slips and I have to start all over again. I may just need to get a better scope, but if there are any tricks to this other than that option I would love to know.
Sorry if this is in the wrong section, please move if necessary.

I think this may live better in General firearms - I'll move it over.
I use Weaver genuine see-thru mounts on my Marlin 60 and they hold well. Trouble is with the narrow and shallow mounting rails I think there is a need for very good and precise fit - and the ability to cinch down the mounts pretty darned tight.
The scope is of lesser importance IMO than using good mounts - that might be the way to go for improvement. I am assuming there is slippage in yours.
If however it is the scope moving in the rings then a ''lining'' of masking tape can help grip quite a lot.

My came with a small cheap scope mounted on a rail system that
didn't work very well as you couldn't keep the scope at zero long.

In case it helps any - here is a closer shot of mine re the scope mounts. This is an old Herters scope I put on as previous one went on another gun. It serves very well.
I have little doubt that the good mounts make all the difference. These are tho as I think I metioned, see-thru's.

Thank you for the advice. I will be shopping for a better mount. It is this that will work its way off zero mark.
