your mag to hold more rounds?
I believe there's a block of somekind in some mags keeping them from holding more than 9 rounds at a time. Just wondering if anyone ever took mag apart and removed \ modified block to allow more rounds?

For God, Family and Country!
Nope, I haven't modified one thing. And I probably wouldn't if I saw something in my current collection.
If I see pre-ban mags at a reasonable price, of course, I'll buy one. My USP H&K .40 SW never came with full size mags and it would nice to have some.
However, by firing and cleaning my current stuff, everything feeds, fires and ejects. Each newer era automatic fires at least 11 rounds, and I have spare mags for every pistol. And I know how to do 'tactical reloads.'
My attitude is 'what's the hurry?' The prices will drop, I'll find good stuff.
BATFE mandated the prohibition era magazines could not be modified to hold more than 10, or would fall apart if tried. Not worth it. I'd rather have my two ten round backups than none.
If total government control equals safety, why are prisons so dangerous?
My 226 10 rounders have a bunch of (yuk) plastic attached at base.
Solution - three ex LE factory 15 rounders for carry - and two further factory ones, 20 round capacity.
Gives me a good selection for IDPA - and filling 15's and 20's with ten is soooo much quicker - darn it - one ten rounder never wants to accept #10!!
Definitely - buy em and don't try tweaks!![]()

Nope sind all the STD cap mags have become so cheep except HK i just buy them
No help here, I have a Beretta with four 14rd mags, bought two extra a year or so before the ban went into effect. Lord knows I know the inside of a 1911 mag here lately. Without seeing a low capper though, I'd suspect if you can get inside, you'd probably find an extended follower....I say that because if they just put a plug in the bottom, it could be too easily removed and probably wouldn't have passed "QA". If in fact it is a larger follower, you could probably get a machine shop to craft you a smaller (shorter) one, but frankly the cost would not be worth it. I haven't looked at the gun shows for any since I don't have another gun that can use them, but you might try shopping at a show.![]()
