I haven't messed with Para's since I bought my P-12 about 16 years ago. I figured one was enough, eh?
When the NRA convention was in Kansas City a few years back I was checking out their booth and asked the guy what LDA meant. He said, "light double action" and handed me one to try.
Oh my lord... It was like dragging a hot knife through a stick of butter. Absolutely no creep and a clean break! I don't know, but if I had to guess, I would think maybe a six or seven pound pull? Without putting a gauge on it, I really don't know.
But it is sweet! If I ever get another Para, I'll be getting an LDA.
Side note: I've never met a guy who dissed the 9mm volunteer to be shot with one... And taxi driver Mark Yuhr in Miami shot a guy 7 or 8 times at point blank range with a .45 acp who was trying to kill him after robbing him. (the medical examiner couldn't tell if one of the wounds was the 8th entrance wound or an exit wound) The guy died a few minutes later, but not before trying to raise his gun again and shoot him. When it comes to a handgun as a self defense weapon, it's all relative, and nothing is 100%.
