CCF Race Frames, metal frames for Glocks

I have read a few articles about these and I must say I am intrigued. I carry a G23 and I love it. I have done some minor modifications to it myself, such as filing down the trigger guard right where it meets the grip. It just rubbed my middle finger pretty badly as it was originally and taking some of the polymer off there changed the whole feel of the grip. It made it much better.

One thing I have always had a problem with is the grip angle. I have gotten used to it and I shoot very well with my Glock but the angle is just not a natural pointer for me. I love the 1911 grip angle and the CCF frames feature a 1911 grip angle. Also, the rails are much longer and more robust.

I am seriously considering buying a CCF frame for the G23 when they come out with one. They are currently making frames for the full size Glocks right now.

Just wondering what anyone else's opinion of these frames might be. I know what some of you might be thinking, if you are to go to that much trouble, why not just buy a gun that fits your hand better? Well, I can answer that question, it wouldn't be a Glock then. I am a fan of the Glock. I just do not care for the grip angle. I just wish Glock would pull their collective heads out of where ever they have them stuck and make an OEM frame with a different grip angle. It wouldn't be too hard for them at all IMO.

Hi, Mike! I'd do it. CCF has one of the best reputations in the custom/Class II/III market. If they made one for the 19, I'd have beat you to it!

Not to be confrontational, but will it really still be a Glock with a new after market frame?

Maybe I am still new, or maybe I love the Glock as it is, BUT...

What is a CCF frame? How would it change the handle/look of the Glock?

They make alloy frames, alloy changes the weight hence the handling, also the angle is different, same as a 1911 IIRC.

Yes, there is a frame with the 1911 grip angle option. Also, the grip is slimmer but uses the same mags. Decreased trigger reach. And, the frame is made of metal so it does not flex during firing.

Also, polymer frames will absorb some amount of water in a humid or wet environment and as a result, the Glock mags tend to stick when the gun is very wet. That is not a problem with the CCF frames.

I think I am going to get one when they make the 23 frame. But, I will buy a another 23 off gunbroker or something and have the trigger and other parts switched over to the CCF frame from it so I can switch out my slide group back and forth from alloy to polymer when ever I want.

You shouldn't have to buy a whole gun to get those parts, just buy the innards at MidwayUSA or some similar site.
