UK Gun Question.....
I understand that we have some former British citizens/residents here on the forum.
The gun ownership issue in the UK hits home for me because my Grandparents came from Scotland. And I truly wish my family's homeland would get its act together and allow its people to properly defend themselves.
And once I get both feet into my career, I would like to by a small summer home somewhere near Liddelsdale, Langholm or Hawick. The Armstrong clan (my family) still has some small castles and fortified Tower's there.
So what Im wondering, is there some sort of grass roots group trying to regain its gun rights?
Also, I know that Scotland is trying (and probably will) declare its independence from England and develope its own constitution. Is it at all possible that the right to bear arms will be on it?
I know that a UK citizen can own an AR15, but it has to be worked on so that its no longer a semi-auto. You basically have to pull the charging handle back for each shot.
But we all know that is total crap.
So, your comments please.

There a few rifles that you can own that are basically straight pull bolt, I know you can get with the right credentials, Saiga-M (AKM series) and SVD in the UK.

I cannot think of any grass roots group that has anything approaching''clout'' when it comes to swaying overall opinion - in any part of UK.
With Scotland also seemingly in the lead with banning stuff like edged weapons and recently IIRC air weapons ...... even if they went fully independant I can't see much chance of change that you wish for.
Until such time as the predominant sheeple content changes its mind to realize that guns are not themselves the cause of all ills .. and that victims should not be punished sometimes as criminals if they dare to defend themselves ..... I cannot see anything like the needed sea change.
Even I think to have a single shot bolt action rifle you have some explaining to do - to prove ''good reason'' for possession. That might be legitimate hunting, competition shooting etc.
Frankly (IMO) - the outlook is very very bleak

Thank God my ancestors were smart enough to get out of there in 1732. They certainly had great foresight!

Not good enough foresight, I fear. Liberals, Secular Progressives, Socialists, Commies, or whatever these vile creatures are calling themselves at the moment, are striving to Europeanize America to create their version of a NWO.
