Question Walther PPK PPKs Owners Only

Just curious if any of you have had this happen with your own Walther.

Insert Magazine rack slide and feed the top round into the chamber.

Then when removing the magazine to "top it off" the next round up (AKA the top round in the inserted magazine) has already moved forward to the point where the magazine either sticks on removal or sometimes...ejecting the mag and pulling it out - in order to top it off will pop the top cartridge right out of the mag and it will fall out of the magazine well.

Is this idiosyncratic to my Walther PPK/S or have you ever had the same thing happen with firearm?
In no way is the functioning affected but, it's strange that the act of chambering the top cartridge actually moves the next cartridge so far forward - that it must be partially protruding from the front of the magazine far enough to stick the magazine in the well.

Yes, mine will do this as well, and it has not affected functioning.

I've had a PPK 7.65mm since 1968 and have never had that particular problem. But, I have found that after a magazine gets a few years of wear I start getting stovepipes. A new magazine has always corrected the problem.

    That's interesting.
Interesting that feeding the top round actually positions the next round up to feed?
It's just curious because I've never had that happen with any other semi-auto that I've owned & I have owned a lot of them.
Colt SIG Beretta Star Detonics Ruger S&W Kel-Tec Seecamp NAA and the list goes on but, it is something that only happens with the Walther.

I'm not complaining about it and it's not a problem at all - just one of those things I was curious about 'cause I don't know anybody else that owns a PPK/S around here.

Glad to hear that this seems to be "normal". I was also a little concerned with this. I have 500 rounds through my S&W ppks without a problem.

I don't have any function related problems either it's just one of those curious things.

General warning though my PPK/S does not like non factory magazines. Buy OEM mags.
