Talking COLT DEFENDER the Final Chapter THANK YOU OD!

OK, wonderful, thanks for all the help, especially to the member OD for pointing me to the right guy!

I am now a proud owner of a working, dead on accurate Colt Defender. I am confident enough to carry it as my CCW.

After it's two trips to Colt, replacement of it's entire slide assembly and the NEW mags for the defender that are out I am a happy camper.

Colt treats you right, they say what they mean and do what they say. I have over 2000 rounds through this weapon about 500 with the new mags and slide now. In those 500 w/new mag and slide I had ZERO failures. All Colt stock, no Wilson combat mags.

Now I have 6 mags for this weapon, a bit much but tis ok. I will keep the first edition mags in the box it came in!

THANKS OD and thanks to the members of DCC!

My Primary Carry is a Colt Delta Elite. When it was new I had feed problems and stovepipe jams. My Gunsmith changed the angle of the feed ramp and polished it. He did some trigger work on it and changed out recoil springs (I don't remember if he went heavier or lighter). He also did some work on the slide.

The gun has performed flawlessly ever since. He did the work for nothing as he wanted my future business.

Now I plan on getting a Defender. I want something smaller and lighter than the Delta Elite. If It doesn't perform flawlessly right out of the box, I'll have him do the same things to it. If he charges me, It is well worth the expense, although for the $ it should perform correctly right out of the box.

I've been told that the Colt's don't lose their value as much as some of the other brands.

Several people convinced me not to buy a Kimber.

Glad to hear that your Defender is finally performing correctly!!

    Rick,

If, by chance you'd get a new Colt that had teething problems, send it to them, they have a Lifetime warranty.
