Anyone know where I can get some .308 ball?

I've been checking all the usual sources - ammo man, big dog ammo, Aim, Cheaper than Dirt, Sportsmansguide, Natchez, Midway, etc trying to find some decent .308 ball.

All the surplus stuff is either India or Lithuanian. I hear from everyone that the Indian ammo is crap. How about the Lithuanian stuff?

The only alternatives are Russian (lacquered cases= bad news) or "White Box" stuff from the American "big three" (Which is all running about $600 a case).

Any ideas? I'd love to get my hands on some South African or Lake City... Thanks for any info that ya'll might provide.

I have a bunch of the South African made in 1979/1980/1981 and the Lithuanian made in 2002 stacked away. Though I didn't pay these prices shown.

For what its' worth I have shot a boat load of the Russian Silver Bear .308 FMJ ammo (metal cased) from my M1A with no issues. They don't use lacquer any more but a polymer coating that has eliminated that issue.
