TBI (tennessee sales)
You guys might want to find out why the folks in charge don't have mirrored and/or load balanced servers etc... as in why all their "eggs" are in one basket. This shouldn't have been able to happen. Any good IT shop would have prevented that. A whole week without sales...that could spell death for some businesses...
"My God David, We're a Civilized society."
"Sure, As long as the machines are workin' and you can call 911. But you take those things away, you throw people in the dark, and you scare the crap out of them; no more rules...You'll see how primitive they can get."

All the backups in the world won't stop a backhoe from snapping a fiber line. It's been reported that there were several state system problems.
A while back SABRE (American Airlines res system) was taken off line by a farmer in the midwest burying a cow with a backhoe. Cut a main east/west fiber run. Then he ran the survey crews off with a shotgun when he found them on his land.
Took the local sheriff calling him to tell him to let the crews out there. They were down for over 19 hours.
"If I was an extremist, our founding fathers would all be extremists," he said. "Without them, we wouldn't have our independence. We'd be a disarmed British system of feudal subjectivity."
