New here and just got a Kimber Ultra Carry II !!!
Well Im new here and I just put money on a new Kimber Ultra Carry II. Its all stainless and aluminum and its a beauty.
I would like some opinions on this gun. I have always had full size all steel 1911's. I was looking for a Colt Defender but found this. The general feeling is that the UC II is very reliable and much better overall than the UC 1 was. This has an internal extractor as well.
I was carrying a Glock 19 but its too blocky. Side by side the 1911 makes the Glock look like a brick. It concealed much better under my loose tshirt than the Glock did just testing it in the shop. Its as light or lighter than the Glock too is seems. I could never get use to the Glocks trigger. No matter how much I fire any of them. I cant stand DA/SA guns either. I learned on a 1911 and was spoiled I guess.
Anyway did I make a good buy? Its $700 OTD and Im getting $350 on my G19 which I got for less than that on a trade. So Im happy so far. Do these guns need a break in period? It seemed damn tight to me just racking it today.
I will post pics ASAP once I have it home.
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum. The Kimber is a very fine pistol. You will find a great many 1911 fans here, so you will feel right at home.
We will be much better off when we learn to deal with things as they really are, instead of how we wish them to be!

Congrats on an excellent purchase!
I have a Kimber Ultra CDP II...I love the gun.
Although opinions will vary, I felt that my Ultra needed 300-500 rounds through it before I was comfortable with its 'break-in period'...
Yep, Glocks feel/look like bricks...except for my G-36...
The G-36 and my Ultra are both very comfortable for CCW...

For a NIB Kimber, at least 500 round break in period.
$700 is a good buty IMHO
Welcome to the forum!

Welcome to the forum!!! I also have a Kimber Tactical Ultra (blued) and I paid $1089!!! The user's manual says break-in is 400 rounds. I have already shot 200 rounds through it (no failures) and it seems to be breaking in already...

500 rounds is Kimber's textbook break in amount.
Mine has been flawless in over 1100 rounds.

Welcome from a relatively new member!
I had a kimber ultra carry that I sold for some insane reason about three years ago and it was one of the stupidest things I've ever done...
Enjoy your new purchase- great gun-- and seems like you got a good price too!
