    How many guns are enough?

I own approximately 9 handguns and 5 long guns; ranging from glock, sig, ruger springfield, beretta to S&W MP15 remington 870, 1022 ruger,
bushmaster 97s CX4 storm... My wife says I really should sell off some of these and just have perhaps 2 hand guns and one long gun; her argument is that you can only shoot one at a time and in the event of a disaster or civil unrest situation what you can use is limited. I try to agree but can't part w/ any of my "babies"..Any suggestions?

You only go around once and how many you can afford should be the only criteria.

I'm like you. Way more guns than I need. In the past I have sold some of my guns and generally regretted it later. I say don't part with your "babies".

I can afford one more handgun--maybe a px4 subcompact --if beretta ever decides to ship it to my local dealers..

You can never have enough. My wife asked that question once and I responded that I would never be done buying firearms. Even without the "emotional" attachment to our "babies" just tell her its like collecting anything else, this should work as long as you don't start stocking doubles of anything.
There are over 550 million firearms in worldwide circulation. That's one firearm for every twelve people on the planet. The only question is: How do we arm the other 11? (Yuri Orlov [Nicolas Cage] Lord of War)

Ummm.....tell her that she can only possibly wear one pair of shoes at a time and she should immediately get rid of all her excess shoewear. Then go to her jewelry box and start picking out all the stuff that is superfluous!

LOL Yeah, actually it might not be in your best interest to follow that advice!! But seriously, I think its a silly argument for getting rid of firearms. I personally have only gotten rid of one firearm in my life and I have kicked myself ever since (man, I miss that SW Model 19). Unless the tax man is knocking down your door or you can't feed the kids keep 'em. You will be sorry if you sell.

Oh and the answer to how many gun are enough? You can never have too many guns

i don't think i could bring myself to part with any of my guns. and i have a lot more that i want to get. lucky for me, my wife likes guns too. but even she has posed the question about selling a gun or two.

in response to disaster or civil unrest... i'll loan my guns to people i trust who don't have their own defensive arms. does that count as a well regulated militia? :)

    How many guns are enough?????

    One of each,

    With a backup,

    And spare parts,

    And ammo for each

    In differant weights

    and design (fmj,jhp,efmj,frangable,AP,Tracer)
To those that paid for my freedom,
    I WILL NEVER FORGET.

As with all statements I've made and All that I will make, please check your local laws to verify accuracy. (and if i'm wrong let me know as I like to be right in the future) After all I'm just some goofball posting on an internet forum.

I've only sold two of my firearms in my entire life.

Both of them still haunt me to this day.

The number of guns is just like ammo. There is never enough.

After reading all the posts so far. decided not to sell anything at all; I figure the glocks and the AR are for HD or SHTF scenario; the rest are my "hobby" guns...hey, may even pick up a px4 or 92fs to complete the collection! Thanks all!
