I have a 3rd gen Taurus PT145 MilPro. The Captive Recoil Spring Assembly is the one piece spring and guide rod that powers the slide.
What recommendations for cleaning and lubricating this do other shooters have? Break-Free CLP seems to be alright, but it do get a little dirty in there after a couple of hundred rounds and I want to be sure I'm taking care of this properly.
Thanks in advance!
I think a flush with brake/carb cleaner (in well ventilated area) .. until crud is dislodged and it's visibly cleaner.
Once all evaporated then CLP or other choice of good lube. Mobil 1 too will do fine, or Militech1.
