How to not be an example to your son, or anyone, toward handling of a gun

    Gunman Almost Takes Out Cameraman
This dude unloads most of a clip and then walks towards his son who was filming. As he goes to put the safety on he shoots off the last round nearly hitting his kid.

The shooters major mistake, amongst several others, was he attempted to thumb cock the weapon which was improper and it slipped striking the firing pin and chambered round goes BOOM...right toward and at the feet of the cameraman who is also his son.

We had this link recently but it was hosted on a rather less than ideal site (other content) and pulled .... this seems reasonable this time so will let it run as indeed the vid is a VERY salutary reminder about proper handling and safety.

This does need seen and absorbed. So close to tragedy. I wonder if he realized what slidelock was all about? (or lack of it!)

As I opined in a previous post:

Drop the mag, rack the slide, make sure the chamber is clear before you drop the hammer........

Proof positive that there are still some folks out there with no grey matter between the ears.

wow. he didn't seem to be overly concerned that he almost shot his son. I sure hope he gets some instruction after that.

Im sure he was trying to play the accident off for his son. It sounded like he said " was that loud?". The kid said "yea".

This guy was probably (hopefully) crapping his pants, but didn't wantto show it for lack of looking cool for his son.

I hope he never sleeps again. Friggin moron.

    You know....

It seems kinda odd this video even got 'out'. Surely even a complete idiot would have erased any trace of it? Setup maybe?

dunno, maybe I'm hoping against hope that it wasn't real, though the sad fact is this kind of stupidity happens.
