Overhead bullet trap for a .22

I mentioned in another thread that I'm not comfortable cleaning my 22/45 because part of the process is pulling the trigger with the gun pointed upright and a magazine inserted. I don't consider "up" a safe direction, and I don't like making exceptions to gun handling rules and my safety rituals. What does it take to trap a .22 round, and could be mounted overhead to provide a safe spot to dry fire?

In one of my old goofing around tests Winchester .22 H.P. High Velocity shot from 5" barrel semi-auto (close range - about 6') penetrated 2.5" into a dry phone book.

So you might want to do your own testing on that and build a wood box about 3 or 4 phone books deep & that should cover you out for sure.
That would probably be the cheapest way to go.
Old phone books can be had for nothing.
    Just don't miss the box.
