S&W Model 10
The very first gun I ever bought was a S&W Model 10 on my 21st birthday price $72.95. Since then I have owned or shot about every new handgun from the S&W Model 19 thru the Glocks (Which are my current carry guns 19 and 26) but today while checking out one of my gunshop hangouts I spied a S&W Model 10-5 in the case. Now Model 10s are not rare or hard to find but this one was like new and just needed a home so I put it in layaway but I am going to pick it up tomorrow. I remember shooting my first model 10 and it always worked and guarded me and mine for several years. Oh by the way the price for the new one was a little higher than $72.95 But I guess maybe I am getting nostalgic in my old age.

Haha - inflation - that nasty fact of life!
Good find tho and the M10 is most surely among the greats. It is as yet one of the Smiths I have never owned but could be that if I spy one at some point - I will be putting a dent in some plastic!!
Look fwd to a pic later if that is possible, altho I expect most of us know what to expect.

I love S&W revolvers....I have a Model 65 myself, but I'd love to get me a Model 10 if I come across a reasonably priced one.

Just my opinion but the Model 10 is so classic that no collection is complete without one. Every serious collector or enthusist should have at least one in any configuration. My 4 inch heavy barrel is a very accurate shooter. I would say it is 99% on par with my 4 inch Colt Python with the same ammo.

Hello. Count me in as a strong fan of the good ol' Model 10. Good luck in your purchase and I hope you enjoy the revolver. It should serve well.
Best.
