Are you talking rifle, shotgun or pistol ?

Enough that the local Fire Dept knows to evacuate the neighborhood if my shop catches fire. And if it catches on fire....

the National Geological Agency will be notified of the spike on the Richter Scale when the shock wave goes off.

the Hostile Nations of the U.S. and the United Nations will be notified to assure that we aren't testing Nuclear Weapons and violating any treaties.

most satellites in orbit will be temporarily rerouted in order not to get blown off of their course.

the National Security Agency will suspend their "listening" operations and turn all sensitive equipment OFF until the fire is put out and the explosion has occurred.

any space shuttle launches will be delayed until the blast dissipates to keep the air pressure constant so that the computer plot chart and flight path mathematics will still be accurate.

I have enough ammo stash that if any liberal Democrat knew how much I had they would spend the rest of their career passing laws to protect every citizen from people like me. They would lose sleep and not pee for weeks at a time. Just the thought of average Joe's like myself having that much ammunition would be enough to cause most of them to have nervous breakdowns and severe mental duress.

6 eight rounders and 1 ten round magazine is loaded with 230gr Hydra shocks.
I think it's enough, when one needs more it's time to buy an AK, AR or just move...

I have 7 more ten round mag, and 7 other eight round mag what I use for competition and a few thousand of my reloads around. If I ever feel the need to load them, I will...

We had that thread a couple months ago... at that time I had somewhere around 6k - 8k rounds IIRC maybe more... since then I've shot some and bought some so I imagine roughly close to the same amount.

about 3.4K in all calibers and I feel inadequate after HotGuns' post!

That depends on whether or not I opened the safe before I went to bed. If not, and my carry gun is the overnighter, only the 15 in the pistol, and another 15 at the ready.

HotGuns, thanks for the laugh. That was a good way to end the night.

This question could be answered two ways. What do you have in a magazine ready for immediate use and what do you have stocked.

I'll go with the immediate use version.

One 16 round magazine of Gold Dot +P 9mm in gun
One 16 round magazine of Gold Dot +P 9mm

5 rounds Gold Dot +P .38 Special in gun.
Two 5 round speed strips of Gold Dot +P .38 Special
One 5 round speed loader of Gold Dot +P .38 Special

20 rounds Wolf 154g SP in gun
20 rounds Wolf 123g SP in magazine
20 rounds Wolf 122g FMJ in magazine
20 rounds Wolf 122g HP in magazine

4 rounds of 1 Buck in 12 Gauge.
5 rounds of 1 Buck on stock of shotgun.

I'm taking this question as what is ready to use right now.

There is always a G19 at the ready with four mags. Thats 60 right there.

There is always a shotgun floating around too, most likely an 870. There is other 8.

Then the AR is kept handy too. At any given time there is at least 4 mags loaded for it. Sometimes more, rarely less.

That adds up to 188. There is plenty in storage to keep that number the same or higher in a SHTF situation.

I would think that would take care of most any problem that may occur in the land of McMansions, the crime of the year here is when a unknown neighbors dog poo's in someones tree lawn, or a kid takes off with anothers tricycle.

My goal is to amass an inventory like Hot Guns. Not there yet but I'm hoarding WWB and Speer GD in case times get tough.

I'm too tired to count it all except to say that I have.... enough.

16+1 and another 16 in a magazine. Then 16 more in another magazine. And if that runs out, 10+1 and another 10. Then about 8 boxes of 50 rounds so another 400 rounds stockpiled.
