Well I ordered a new Sig 239 DAK 9mm from my local gun shop on August 30th. They told me it would be a couple of weeks because Sig is backed up. I stopped in the shop today to check up on my order and they told me another 6 weeks. I thought I waited long enough already.
Any wait is too long! Worse when it gets extended. Probably down to SIG telling the shop over-optimistic time frame.
I guess you can blame some of the folks here, as the 239 is very popular
It sure sucks but - hopefully the enforced delay will still be worthwhile.

I know Sig isnt the quickest moving company out there, but I didnt know that they took that long.... I'm pretty sure I could get my hands on a 239 this week if I wanted too.
Are you sure its not your dealer or his distrubutor? Sig does play favorites.

Must be the name change, Sig Arms in the U.S. has changed to Sig Saur to match the globale firm.
I absolutely hate waiting for any purchase. I bit the bullet and ordered my OD frame XD9sc when they told me it would be 60 days for the OD from Springfield. I almost changed my mind and got an all black one that I could have had that day, but I didn't.
I lamented about it for a month and totally freaked when it in fact arrived 30 days early.
I was a happy camper when going to pick that puppy up!
Don't agonize too much on the wait!

Well I did it. I ordered a new HK P2000sk today that I was told would be here in a few days. I am hoping for friday so I can take it out this weekend.

A wait for a 239? All the local places here in South Florida have them in stock,...checkout the guntechinc.com site they'll overnite it to your FFL in Pa...The p239 is a great gun..I have two of them!

Well, I went to the gun store today to see if my HK came in. Unfortunately it was not, but it will be here Tuesday. But, my Sig did happen to arrive. Apparently there was a mistake and it was meant 6 more days, not 6 more weeks. Anyway, I brought my new 239 DAK 9mm home today and will be taking it to the range tomorrow to try it out.
