As others have said, in combat shooting don't worry about focusing on the front sight. If you want to target shoot, or maybe get into competition, ask your optometrist if they can make a pair of shooting glasses for you. These are glasses taylor made to your shooting length.

I would add another vote for the laser.
A perfect answer for folks with various vision related idiosyncrasies.

I've been practicing focusing on the front sight using dry fire at home. I discovered that with my prescription glasses (which have progressive lenses) allow me to get the sight sharp with a little tilt of my head. The target goes fuzzy, but that's ok. I've also been practicing the crush grip recommended by Massad Ayoob at http://www.backwoodshome.com/articles2/ayoob85.html
I had been using my single vision sunglasses at the range. They are poly carbonate and cover more of my eyes than my normal glasses. That's why I was having so much trouble focusing on the front sight. I used my normal glasses at the range today and the combination of front sight focus and crush grip corrected shooting down and to the left. 100% improvement.
