I think I've said it in one of those threads JD linked, I'll say it again anyway.
The big dots work as advertised. They are quick. I've tried them and liked them, but they just are not for me.

I've got the standard dot sights and love them. Takes some getting use to, but can't beat em once you do.

I recently put them on my G 27. I have the Big Dot, not the standard. Like Sixto said, they work as advertised. They do take some getting used to, when I first shot with them I was hitting low(about 3-4in@7yds) till i remembered what they were. They work.

Girlfriend has one on her Tomcat. It's easy to shoot at defensive ranges. The night sight did die right after we bought it, but Beretta replaced it within a week or so.
