    Ive solved it the easy way stay away from the 40 and dont worry about it funny the 40 seems to kaboom more than anything else

    a bunch of guys who enjoy shooting and stuff were discussing these pics yesterday at work (we're all engineers.) A quick mental calculation based on pressures usually seen in the .40 cartridge and then the factors of safety built into barrels, done by a co-worker put the pressure somewhere in the 150,000 psi range, but that was just a guess...

    firefighter - well I didn't try any math - just stabbed at a guess but yeah - thinking of FOS matters, wall thickness etc - your figure is well possible. As I said - pretty much a small bomb!
