I've been tinkering with 1911's for a few years now. That site will be a big help.
If you are going to work on 1911's, another good resource are those .45 auto shop manuals by Jerry Kuhnhausen, volumes I and II. They are the bibles of 1911 gunsmithing. Do a search for "Jerry Kuhnhausen" on google and you will find many websites selling his manuals.
