What A Total Waste
A couple of months ago some Ebay seller had 16 pounds of Colt 1911 frames cut in half....BOO HOO ~ Colt Slides cut up with a welding torch  & now these Shmooshed Colt Barrels. Damn what is wrong with our wasteful government? :hand4:
dont be showing stuff like that.. its just sicking and depressing
Welcome to real waste...
then again...look at how much money is wasted every year by the government on the bureaucracy...
and it gets worse and worse every year...
You want to feel bad? Years ago I saw a WWII era P38 (mint) with all matching serial numbers go into the police chopper up in Philly! :popout2:
Thought I was goung to cry.
What would be wrong with the govt. selling off pistol parts to registered gun dealers and maybe have some of OUR HARD EARNED TAX MONEY go back into the general fund?
I am gonna cry - yes sirree - this is gut-wrenching stuff! http://www.acbsystems.com/images/smilies/weepie.gif
I suspect that buried deep within some new obscure bill that went through congress there was a provision to destroy gun parts so that civilians could not buy them. Usually (choose a name) would insure gun people would not enjoy any part of military extra stuff. Just my thoughts on the matter.
FortyFive ~ Alas Alack
You are 100% correct.
Lord only knows our Govt. would hate us outstanding, upstanding American Citizens a price break on some nice old Colt Parts. :unitedsta
The real tragedy is that I'd love to my mitts on something like one of those frames and some of the vintage parts and restore it to some kind of working order. That's a part of history that's gone forever when they do stuff like this.
I almost feel the need to break something, but there is a bright side(almost)....
the barrels look like there's still enough meat to convert to Officer length?
Actually, a few weeks ago there were some demilled Colt barrels listed that just had the very muzzle smashed & they probably could have still been used as good Commander Barrels.
They were not nearly smashed as bad as this particular batch.
I just didn't happen to need any more Commander barrels...since I bought a Fire Dragon match grade Commander barrel & fit bushing for about a third of what they retail for. What a NICE, tight fitting accurate barrel that turned out to be! I have in in one of my C. Commanders right now. :king:
