This guy is probably in a heap of trouble, if this article is accurate.
FORT WORTH, Texas — A 47-year-old man was shot in both legs when he accidentally discharged a handgun while sitting in his cubicle at an insurance office, police said.
The man, who hasn't been publicly identified, had put his .45-caliber gun into his jacket pocket and then draped the jacket over the back of his chair, said Brett McGuire, Lake Worth police chief.
The gun discharged Tuesday morning as the man settled into his chair. He said the man must have done something to make the weapon fire.
The bullet passed through both of the man's legs and a bookcase before lodging in the wall of a cubicle.
McGuire said there was no indication the man had brought the gun to target anyone.
"He wasn't having problems with his bosses or co-workers that we know of," McGuire said.
McGuire said his department has no record of the man being licensed to carry a concealed weapon. He said detectives would wait until the man, who was taken to a hospital, had recovered before deciding whether to pursue charges.

Well, I think this pretty much validates having a pocket holster and the reason whay you never put your gun in a pocket without something covering the trigger!

I am glad it is only the wife and I in our office, and we don't have morrons like this to work with.
This is wrong on so many levels it is hard to think where to start.
No license
No holster
Carrying off person
Crappy gun or bad handling skills
Just an idiot
I am sure there will be more things done wrong pointed out by others. Too bad he wasn't from Arkansas or Oklahoma, and we have to claim him as a Texan.
Just remember that shot placement is much more important with what you carry than how big a bang you get with each trigger pull.

Just roll to your rifle and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldier.

yep, holster is an absolute must. Whenever I've had to transport my 1911 from my truck inside after a trip (it's my truck gun, and the USP on my hip means no space for another holster), I take it down to condition 3. No sense in letting a fold of clothing or gremlin hiding in my back pocket ruin my day.
Something tells me this guy was in need of a few extra braincells anyway, though. Maybe he was one of the "I don't need no stinkin' licence" guys.

Is this hard to understand? Then why does it get unintelligible to some people when 5 little words are changed?

He hangs the gun on the back of the chair and shoots himself in both legs??? I smell a rodent. I could almost believe this story if he shot himself in the back... No, not even then.
